LuAnn Turner  |  Executive Director

LuAnn Turner served as first a counselor, then Director of the Counseling Center before becoming Small Group Pastor at Bear Valley Church from which the Multi-Housing ministry was birthed. Since 2007 she has served there as Multi-Housing Pastor, focusing on this critical community outreach. She has seen its impact on the lives of individuals and communities as the ministry grew quickly from one apartment community to four before its outreach into 10 more over the years.

She is a graduate of the School of Social Work at the University of Kansas, receiving her Masters of Social Work. She subsequently completed her licensure as a Clinical Social Work. She is married and they have two adult children, both of whom live with their spouses in the Denver area.

Kavon Pearson  |  Ministry Director

Kavon Pearson got involved in the "multi-housing ministry" in 2013 as a summer intern. He fell in love with relational ministry that took the church to the people.  In 2014 he came back to the ministry as a church planting intern with the North American Mission Board.  Later he was brought on staff at Bear Valley Church as the Community Youth Pastor focusing on providing pastoral care to the teens in the community.  Kavon is currently at Gateway Seminary pursuing a Masters in Divinity. 


Anna Myers  |  Ministry Associate

Anna became involved with Mission 98’s ministry in August of 2018. The same year, she graduated with a B.A. in Intercultural Ministries from Moody Bible Institute. During her years in college, she enjoyed participating in a student led ministry to reach the kids and families of the community through a backyard Kid’s Club and building relationships. During her last year of college, she interned with Action International Ministries to minister to street children in the Philippines. After moving to Denver in 2018, she fell in love with the idea of reaching the mission field in our own backyard by building relationships in multi-housing communities. Anna is married to Cameron, who also volunteers with Mission 98 as his schedule allows. 


Janice Freedenburg  |  Missionary to Denver

Janice has been working with multi-housing ministry since February 2004.  She began by leading a Bible study and has been working with the ministry in various capacities ever since. She currently ministers at multiple locations and is known as the “church lady”.

She has a Bachelors degree in education from Southern Oregon University and a Masters in Missions from Denver Seminary. She taught physical education for several years and then was reminded of her call to missions. She served as a missionary in Venezuela with Go To Nations from 1995-2003.


Jennifer Edwards  |  Ministry and Office Assistant

Jenny found Mission 98 in 2017 through a spring break trip in college. Loving the model of ministry through lasting relationships and reaching kids in these apartment communities, she was excited to come back the next two summers to work as an intern. After graduating from University of Colorado, she joined the staff as a Ministry and Office Assistant in the summer of 2019. Jenny is pursuing international missions by studying at Gateway Seminary while working on staff at Mission 98.


Marz Zeitvogel  |  Donor Development Assistant

Marz joined the Mission 98 team in the summer of 2019 as Donor Development Assistant. She is excited about the growth of this important ministry, and is touched as she watches its impact in the community.


Sheryl Tevebaugh  |  Bookkeeper

Sheryl is a former missionary to Mexico and a long-time volunteer in this ministry. She loves children and working with them, and uses her language skills to expand the outreach into Spanish speaking communities. In 2018 she joined the Mission staff as bookkeeper.



Lindsay Kelley  |  Secretary

Lindsay has worked with multi-housing ministry for 13 years, leading kid's clubs, mentoring teen girls and interns, envisioning and implementing our teen night activities and leading an outreach at one location. She has both bachelor of science degrees in biology and in nursing. She  currently works in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Presbyterian Hospital, and continues to mentor teen girls and assist in our ministry planning. She is passionate about seeing Mission 98 reach additional apartment communities, inviting people to know the best Jesus and His church have to offer.


Jim Walters  |  Treasurer

Jim Walters has been involved in "multihousing ministry" since the 1980's in one way or another. Jim has seen and experienced the power of "taking church to the people" and believes that the future of community-based ministry is greater in the near future than ever before.

The retired pastor of Bear Valley Church, Jim now is the Executive Director of Servants of Christ International, Inc., a partnership missions agency operating around the world. He has one wife, two daughters, and three granddaughters (and a grand-dog).


Amy Young  |  Chair

For nearly twenty-five years Amy Young has been in full-time ministry. She started off as an English as a Second Language teacher and transitioned quickly to national leadership of English Language Institute/China (ELIC). While with ELIC she equipped hundreds to live, teach, and minister in China. Over the years she was the National Curriculum Director, Member Care Director, and University Teaching Program Director, overseeing over 200 teachers and their families living in China.

She has two Master’s degrees, one in Teaching English as a Second Language and another in Counseling and has earned her LPC in the state of Colorado. She authored Looming Transitions: Starting and Finishing Well in Cross-cultural Service and Love, Amy: An Accidental Memoir Told in Newsletters from China to help and equip missionaries.

Amy helped to found Velvet Ashes with Danielle Wheeler and Patty Stallings and today is the Director of Global Operations.


Bob Timm  |  Fundraising and Accounting Support

Bob was elected to the Mission 98 Board in August 2018. He has been volunteering with our multi-housing ministry for several years by housing a summer intern and transporting the bouncy house to Carnivals and other ministry events. Currently, he is helping Mission 98 staff with fundraising and accounting support.

He recently retired from a 23-year career in fundraising and accounting and is now volunteering with Wycliffe Associates providing translation support in Eurasia and Indonesia. Bob has been a member of Bear Valley Church for 20 years, and an active Board member of the Wheat Ridge Rotary.  His wife Cathy is also a ministry volunteer and they have two adult children.
